Biography
I am a twenty one years old Libra born female singer in the 83,000 square miles of the beautiful land on Guyana the home of 750,000 people. I believe that women are the driving force of the world and I will prove indubitably that women can succeed at anything. My name is Shellon Onica Garraway aka Shelly G, I am a feisty young song writer, composer both versatile and creative, lending my voice easily to any rhythm - Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop but my preferred genre lies firmly in the world of Caribbean Soca.
Number three of four children, i started singing with the popular Talent Exclusive show produced on Television by Mr Dynamix in 2004. This programme was geared to spot new talents, and I immediately began my music career as one of the leading artiste with Dynamix Recording Studio.
In 2005 I made my professional debut on stage at the National Park with a most tantalising rendition of "Touch Me." This performance at the National Carib Soca Monarch landed me the number two spot over some of the more seasoned performers and marked the beginning of my colourful career on stage.
I have traveled the length and breadth of Guyana, delivering some of the more memorable performances that have left an indelible mark in the minds of many who refer to me as the "Ouch Girl."
I am a graduate of Cotton Field Secondary School, Essequibo and i am determine to forge a name for myself in the international music arena and one of my goals is to take Guyanese music to the next level and bring home Guyana's first Grammy."
I am 5 ft 7", 106 lbs and I love music. "My music gives me a chance to bring all races together as one in a world where segregation is just a word." .
My first album was released in December 2006 titled Shelly G Online this album put together various singles recorded at some of the outstanding Recording Studio's in Guyana. This album was put together by Mr Ian Johnson of Dynamix Recording Studio and includes crowd favourites such as Touch Me, Tired, Come Over, Jook - Jook featuring Xcelent outta Jamaica, Celebration Time (featuring Fire-Clann), Put It On Meh, Ooh Boy featuring Major Joe B the Fyahnese, Party featuring JB and my most recent, a collaboration between Dynamix and Platinum Recording Studio, "So High", and "What You Mean To Me". This Album is available at leading recording record bars in Georgetown and on my website www.shellygonline.com , and www.myspace.com/shellygonline .
The song Caribbean vibes is my first collaboration with the Vizion Sounds Studio in combinations with the likes of international recording artiste Luciano, First Born, Andrew Bees, and Bally's.
I am working on a new project to complete a 15 track album recorded in Jamaica in April 2007 for the Vizion Sounds Label. This album is a mixture of Soca and Dancehall flavours. These fifteen fresh tracks was recorded in Leggo studio and mixed by Bobby Digital. And the musical production was done by the Fire House Band. This project is sponsored exclusively by the of Vizion Sound Records Guyana and my single Freaky Freaky off this album is soon to be released.
