JAMES HILL, Clarendon - Lennon High and Denbigh High will both seek to extend unbeaten streaks against Claude McKay and Vere Technical today as the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup schoolboys' football competition continues with nine games.
Lennon High beat Claude McKay twice last year on their way to topping Zone H and will hope to continue their dominance as the competition gets into high gear following Saturday's opening game at Jarrett Park.
Defending champions St Elizabeth Technical High, came from a goal down to earn a draw against neighbours Lacovia High on Saturday, while 2008 winners St James High opened their Zone A account with a 2-0 win over Spot Valley High in the third game.
Dalkeith McPherson and Ricardo Morris both scored for St James High as they increased their perfect win record against Spot Valley High to seven straight games.
Spot Valley have failed to score against St James High in three consecutive games now.
Meanwhile, two schools that did not take part last season, Alston High and Thompson Town will also be in action today.
At James Town, hosts Claude McKay will hope for a better start than last season when they earned just one point from seven games played.
Lennon dominated the zone then scoring 18 goals from eight games played and will start favourites to win again today.
Vere, who will host Denbigh, will be hoping for their first win in more than four years.
Denbigh have been unbeaten against Vere in the last two years when they were drawn in the same zone and last year their only win of the season came at the expense of Vere.
